Studio Haustura is a practice-based studio founded in 2025 by French-Basque designer and researcher Maïder Hastoy.

From the Basque haustura, meaning fracture, the studio aims to develop in two distinct paths. While wanting to engage in commercial design, the studio emphasises keeping a strong bond to conceptual design research and strengthening its reflections and position toward socio-architectural norms, forensic and speculative design, and geo-political design issues.

The studio engages in following a rigorous ethical framework with its clients and the public, by being fully transparent with who our collaborators are and who our sponsors are. We firmly ensure to engage in projects not contradicting our human values, such as anti-racism, anti- fascism, queerphobia, and pro-Palestinian stand.

Maïder Hastoy is a French Bask designer and artistic researcher working across political and philosophical fields and everything in-between. With a background in architecture, her work proposes a deep dive into conceptual and speculative design research, investigating spatial issues and intersections of technology, human nature and forensic.
